Frank Lindsay passed away on February 22 surrounded by his loving family. He was a proud Navy veteran and retired from the FDNY in 2018 after a 27-year career. He loved to read history, loved anything about the Civil War, ran marathons for years, loved the Yankees and the San Diego Chargers (they’ll always be from San Diego), and took deep pride in his Irish heritage – born in Belfast, raised on 204th street in the Bronx. ‘The brothers’ meant everything to him whether he was referring to his own three brothers, his FDNY brothers, or his high school brothers. He was so proud of his career at FDNY and all of his accomplishments, and retired with medals and awards – the ‘Jimmy J’ was one he was most proud of. He managed to light up the room with his smile – he had a wonderful sense of humor, always the life of the party, always quick with a joke. He was a kind and generous man, and a good friend to many, giving his all to everything he did. He made an impact on everyone he met – never remembered their names (!) but everyone remembered him! There were many medals and accomplishments over the years but his greatest accomplishment was being a father to Scott and Melissa, his ‘#1’ and his ‘peanut’, respectively. And let’s not forget his favorite four-legged friend, Hooper. He will be missed by all and you can’t help but smile when you think of him – laughter is his legacy. Frank is survived by his wife Lisa, and his children Scott and Melissa. Visiting will be held Thursday, March 3rd, 2022 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm with Memorial Service starting at 7:45pm at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home, 64 Ashford Avenue, Dobbs Ferry, NY Please come share your memories.
