Jeffrey Richard Salant Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Jeffrey Richard Salant born November 3, 1947, longtime resident of Irvington, New York, passed away on April 20, 2022 following a prolonged hospitalization. He was 74. While teaching math in NYC public school Jeffrey earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Brooklyn Law School and was admitted to the Bar in 1976. Along with John Harold, he was a founding partner of the firm that became known as Harold, Salant, Strassfield and Spielberg. During the majority of his tenure at the firm, Jeffrey served as Managing Partner. Throughout his remarkable career, Jeffrey was one of the preeminent matrimonial and family lawyers and law guardians in Westchester County. His son, Gregory Salant, continues his legacy at the firm. Over a decade ago, his paralegal, Paula Thomas, selflessly donated her kidney to Jeffrey. His gratitude for her sacrifice, mutual respect and loyalty live on in our hearts eternally. He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife Barbara (Tuohy) Salant, married June 12, 1988, and his three beloved children from his previous marriage, Jennifer Salant Applebaum, Gregory and Jonathan Salant, his seven grandchildren, Emily, Dylan, Blake, Jacob, Benjamin, Jesse and Coby, his sister Leslie Salant Howard, and his two rescue felines, Hunter and Bruno. He lived a full life “his way “ generous and adventurous. He will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to know and love him.
