Michael A. Greer Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Michael A. Greer, 54, of Mt. Kisco, NY, passed away peacefully at his home on June 9, 2022, after a brief illness. Michael was a dedicated member of Service Employees International Union 32 BJ. He was well-liked by his colleagues and the residents of 891 Park Avenue, NY, where he served as a doorman for 20 years. Michael was an avid reader, published author, filmmaker, and life-long artist. He shared his view of the world through his three short films and a number of manuscripts, short stories, poetry, and other works. He instilled and cultivated an appreciation and passion for music, literature, theater, and film in his friends and family, especially his beloved nieces and nephews. Michael’s quiet nature belied his mastery of language and vocabulary, a skill he routinely honed by completing the New York Times crossword puzzle in pen. Michael was a kind, thoughtful, and loyal son, brother, uncle, and friend. We will miss him more than our words can say. Michael is survived by his mother, Anne, his sister Donna, and his brothers Brian and Matthew. He was pre-deceased by his father, and best friend, Patrick J. Greer, in December 2021. There will be a graveside service at 1:30 PM on Monday June 13, 2022 at Gate of Heaven cemetery in Hawthorne, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the New York Public Library or the New York Society Library
